Members and Friends are invited to spend the afternoon  engaging in lively discussions with a diverse line up of guest authors.  Enjoy a catered seated lunch, book sales & signings, opportunity drawings, special members only raffles, door prizes and more.

Beginning in May of 2020, due to COVID-19,  the FOTL Programs team began offering twice monthly, free Virtual Author Events live via Zoom.  These wildly successful and popular Programs have become  a Member favorite.   Our Virtual Author Summer Series runs through July 2021.  Book give-a-ways and door prizes offered at each event.

Every year in February we host one of our most popular events, the Annual Valentine's Tea.  Guests enjoy dressing the part as we indulge in a traditional high tea with guest authors from the romance or cozy mystery genre.  Door prizes, opportunity drawings, books signings and more.  Members enjoy early registration for this sold out event.

The FOTL offers annual  full or half day all-inclusive field trips to some of Southern California's best attractions and cultural sites.  From cooking demonstrations at local restaurants to Presidential Libraries, the FOTL programs team has researched and organized some of the best day trips available.

Our field trips include round trip transportation on comfortable, luxury busses.  Lunch, snacks, water and price of admission.  Prices vary, members receive a discounted price and early registration.

The FOTL has been hosting our Annual Wassail Party for over thirty years.  Enjoy live entertainment, music, food, wine, opportunity drawings, amazing prizes and of course drinking the Wassail!  This is an event designed as a thank you to our Members for their continued support of the FOTL.  It is a valued and proud tradition and a great way to kick off the holiday season.
