The Friends of the Children's Library (FOTCL) is an all volunteer group dedicated to promoting children's interest in reading and use of the library. They sponsor fun and educational events for children, including an annual Author Festival and special events throughout the year including The Taste of Huntington Beach.
The Friends of the Children's Library (FOTCL) is an all-volunteer group that supports the Children's Department of the Huntington Beach Public Library. We sponsor a variety of educational and informative activities for children in our community throughout the year. We purchase books & materials for the Children's area at all 5 branches. Over $550,000 in books books have been bought since 2003.
FOTCL Mission
To promote children's interest in literature and reading by increasing community awareness of the Children's Department; supporting library programs that promote cultural enrichment of children; raising funds to further promote children's interests in the library; and supporting the development and expansion of library services that promote children's use of the library services and resources.
We meet the 1st Friday of each month at 9AM in Room B (in the lower level of the Central Library). Exceptions include: no meeting in August, and anytime a federal holiday might alter our schedule.
